What types of reports does Taighde want?

We want a little bit of everything. From a hundred page report that goes into depth on the subject matter to a few-page summary that describes a recent investment by a major technology company. Clients want variety and they want it now. You have the expertise, Taighde will provide the means to get your research visible to clients.

Subject matters can vary to include foreign policy, technology, banking, health, or company analysis. If you are not sure if you should submit your research, send us an email at info@taighde.com or use our contact form.

At this time, we are geared up for financial and technology sector research so experts who apply in other areas might see a slightly longer than average membership approval. You can help speed this process up by including as much information as possible when you apply for an account.

Who should become an expert?

As a result of the recent economic downturn, thousands of researchers have been laid off across multiple sectors. Many of these researchers have become freelancers. Taighde allows these researchers to centralize their expertise in one location. If you share a passion and expertise for a topic, we strongly recommend you join Taighde. Experts can be from any field and from any experience levels.

Why do I need to be approved?

We want all research sold on Taighde to be trusted and reliable. By having an approval process for our experts, we are able to make sure we can provide that peace of mind to our clients. After you have been approved, we will conduct quality checks on your research. We will normally ask for a copy of some of the reports you are selling and check your blog and wiki posts.

Are there any formal requirements to join Taighde?

There is no formal requirement to become an expert on Taighde. We want to make sure that the work that your provide to clients is top-notch and well researched.

Do I have to use my real name?

We request that you do use your real name when creating an account on Taighde. Using a real name will help you gain credibility in the field and establish your own personal brand.

Do I need to disclose my personal involvement on a topic?

We expect all experts to write in a neutral tone and let their research and analysis speak for themselves. From our experiences, researchers that adopt an emotional tone tend to sell less research than researchers who are quite neutral. A report that does not match the description provided will most likely be refunded to all clients that ask. The expert will be responsible for the refunds.

I made a mistake on a report I sold, what do I do?

We want the research on Taighde to be 100% accurate but we know that mistakes can be made. If it’s a small mistake, upload a new copy of the report with the mistake removed. The system will alert the person who has bought a copy of the report, that a new version is uploaded and they can download a new copy free of charge. If it’s a major mistake that changes your analysis in a completely different direction, please email us at staff@taighde.com and we will work with you.

What happens to research I submit for quality control?

All copies are deleted upon completion of QC. Your research is never seen by anyone besides staff members involved in the QC process. We ensure that research provided for quality control purposes will never be misused.

Can I change a report once I upload it? Can I edit a report before it is delivered?

Yes, you may edit a report at anytime by uploading a new copy. At this time, we are only offering immediate downloads which means once a client buys your report and their payment clears, a link for them to download it will be immediately sent to them. We are planning on offering the ability to make changes to the report before delivery. Information can change overnight, we encourage our researchers to update. A slight delay will allow experts to give the client the most up-to-date research.

If you feel your report can be sold straight away to a client with no changes, you can upload your report when you create the product. You can upload revisions to the report at any time. If the report has been sold, the revised report will then be sent automatically to the client.

Why should I create a wiki?

Many researchers have found that having a wiki is quite helpful in their research. It is useful for clients to have information handy in a digestible format. Our wiki system allows an expert to sell access to their wiki. Payments may be monthly or annually. Wikis may also be open to everyone and are a great way to get increased traffic to an expert’s profile. We will offer the opportunity to sell ads off a wiki in the future.

Why should I have a blog?

A blog offers the same opportunity as a wiki but are better for offering a quick analysis.

Can I submit research in a language in other than English?

Yes, you may submit research in a different language. At this time, the publishing system is all in English so you should have a fair grasp of English. Please do not submit reports in a language you are not familiar with. While translation tools are getting better, the mistakes they make will be noticed by the native speakers of that language. If a client needs a report in another language, they are free to use translation services.

Who owns the copyright?

All research sold on Taighde will remain the under the ownership of the expert. Taighde will work with you to ensure that your copyright is protected. Please note, if we can not establish that the research in question was purchased on Taighde, we might not be able to pursue the copyright violation.

Selling on Taighde

Fees and payments

Our fees allow us to develop the site. Most of the fee goes towards handling credit cards. We hope to reduce our fees when we have more experts.

Currently we are taking an 8% fee on all report based transactions, which includes all credit processing charges. Subscription based transactions will be 5%. Fees are guaranteed not to increase. We will also adjust rates based on volume.

Your first payment will be sent within 14 days after you successfully sell and complete an order. After this 14 day period, If your account is in good standing, we will initiate disbursement of all earnings within 1 business day after confirmation of delivery.

Currently we have two options for disbursement, PayPal and via check. All experts outside the United States must have a PayPal account. We expect to allow direct payments to individual bank accounts in the future.

What happens if there’s a chargeback?

We will work with the credit card issuers and clients to avoid any unnecessary chargebacks. Assuming an expert delivers the research in the agreed upon timeline and it is of sufficient quality, Taighde will not accept the chargeback and lobby on your behalf. If we feel that the research from the expert is below the quality we expect, we will refund the client and stop payment to the expert. We will normally ask for a copy of the research in question from the expert during our investigation. .

Can I sell ads off my research?

We will have this feature soon with Google Adsense. You will need a Google Adsense account to be able to do this.

Every time I upload a report or write a blog post, I seem to get points. Will this lead me to getting a stupid badge? No...closes draft copy of various badges. We hope to use the point system in the future for many exciting things. By exciting things, we mean something you can actually use like a copyeditor reviewing your latest report or access to a news database.

Do staff at Taighde provide research at Taighde?

We encourage all staff members at Taighde to share their personal research. They must go though the same approval process for membership as any other researcher and they agree to the same terms of use as other experts. All research is conducted on their own time. Taighde is not responsible for their content.
