The 3i Group is a private equity firm based in the United Kingdom. 3i established the 3i India Infrastructure Fund on April 15, 2008. It is believe that several Sovereign Wealth Funds invested in the $1.2 billion fund.
3i sold Care Principles to the Delta Fund. 3i backed a management buyout of Care Principles in April 2005 in a deal valued at about 110 million pounds. 3i also had invested 1.5 million pounds in the business in 1997 for a 38 percent stake.
3i was also involved with the bidding for Four Seasons.
According to Financial Times, the China Investment Corporation invested into 3i's 2010 Growth Capital Fund.
The Government Pension Fund of Norway held a 1.77% stake in the company as of December 31, 2009. The stake is valued at $78,261,982.
