Xie Ping is the Executive Vice President of the China Investment Corporation and was previously general manager of the Central Huijin Investment Corporation. Before taking on the position he worked for the People's Bank of China (PBOC) where he served as Director General of the Financial Stability Department, Director General of the Research Bureau, Governor of the Hunan branch of the PBOC, Director General of the Non-Banking Supervision Department, and Deputy Director General of the Policy Research Office. He has a masters degree in economics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and a PhD degree in economics from Renmin University of China.
