Angola is the third largest oil producer in Africa.
Angola was expected to create a sovereign wealth fund in 2009 to invest its oil revenue, but has been delayed over political issues. When the SWF is created, Fundo Soberano Angolano is expected to receive all of Angola's oil revenues over $58 a barrel.
Sonangol, created in 1976, is responsible for running the state's industry. It has also been responsible for investing all revenues from oil. It is not known if Sonangol will shift responsibility of that task to the FSO.
