The Arab International Bank (AIB) is a provider of banking services and as such offers wholesale, retail and investment banking. The AIB was established in 1974 and operates seven branches in Egypt: five in Cairo, one in Alexandria and one in Port Said. The AIB is a joint venture comprising several countries in the region including Egypt, Libya, Oman and Qatar as well as the Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. In June 2006 its assets totaled US$3.83bn.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority owns 28% in the company.
