The Qatar-Bulgaria JV is a joint venture between Bulgaria and Qatar to create a framework for Qatari investments in Bulgaria. The JV was set up on March 22, 2010 when the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov visited Qatar. The Qatar Investment Authority signed the agreement on behalf of Qatar. The company is expected to be capitalized with up to $500 million, all coming from the QIA. The JV was approved by the Bulgarian parliament on February 24, 2011.
