Bumi (originally named Vallar) is a holding company based in the United Kingdom. The company was founded by Nat Rothschild. It primarily holds coal related assets. It was listed in July 2010. Bumi owns a 29% stake in Bumi Resources. It is expected that Bumi will acquire an majority stake of the company within a few years.
It is believe that the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority has a stake in the company.[1]
According to the Financial Times, the China Investment Corporation and Vallar held discussions to seek joint investments. The report further said that the CIC could provide up to $100 million.
