China-Africa Development Fund

China-Africa Development Fund (CADFund) is an investment fund mandated to invest in subsidiaries of Chinese companies that are based in Africa. The fund was founded in 2007 by the China Development Bank. The fund currently has $1 billion in funding. When it was created it was initially set to receive $5 billion but has only been given the $1 billion.
The fund has invested $500 million. 40% of total investments have been in the infrastructure field.
Zhou Chao is the Managing Director. In November 2009 Zhou announced that CADFund will push Chinese companies to take part in public-private partnerships [1]
