China Development Bank (CDB) is one of three policy lenders in China, along with the Agricultural Development Bank of China and the Export-Import Bank of China. The CDB is tasked with financing companies and projects within China. Ir primarily finances large infrastructure projects such as the Three Gorges Dam and new airport in Shanghai, Pudong International Airport.
Central Huijin Recapitalization
On December 31, 2007, the CDB and Central Huijin, an investment arm of the China Investment Corporation, signed an recapitalization agreement for $20 billion. This will allow the CDB to become public during the next year.
