Chip Goodyear is the former CEO of CHP Billiton. He was appointed CEO of Temasek Holdings in February 2009 to replace Ho Ching. He was originally planned to start in October 2009 but in June, it was announced that Goodyear and Temasek both agreed not to proceed with his appointment.

He graduated from Yale University in 1980 and then received his MBA from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.
Career
Kidder Peabody
Goodyear began as an associate at Kidder Peabody in 1983, becoming assistant vice president in 1985. In 1986 he became vice-president, where he remained until 1989. He dealt with mergers and acquisitions at Kidder Peabody.
Freeport-McMoRan
Goodyear joined Freeport-McMoRan in 1989, serving as vice president for corporate finanice until 1993, when he became the senior vice president and chief investment officer. From 1995 to 1997 he served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Goodyear Capital Corporation
Goodyear left Freeport-McMoRan to be president of his own company, the Goodyear Capital Corporation, a position he held until 1999.
BHP Billiton
Goodyear served as the chief financial officer of BHP from 1999-2001. In 2001 he became the chief development officer of BHP Billiton, a mining company, and in 2003 became its chief executive officer.
There is speculation that Goodyear's appointment may signal a new emphasis for Temasek on natural resources instead of financial services. At the time of Goodyear's appointment, only 5% of Temasek's holdings are in the natural resources sector.
