Hemliner was a joint venture between the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) and the Ascott Group until the GIC sold its stake to Ascott in 2005. Hemliner owns The Ascott Beijing, Beijing's largest top-end service residence. The GIC received $9.2 million for the stake in December 2005.
