Kazyna Capital Management

Kazyna Capital Management JSC was founded by the government of the Kazakhstan in February 2007 to be a "fund of funds" that would, according to its mission, "provide an additional incentive to private businesses of the country through a direct participation in the authorized capital; to grant loans, warranties and other investment instruments." The fund is wholly owned by Samruk-Kazyna.
In early 2008, Kazyna Capital Management announced the creation of a USD 1 billion investment fund with Bahrain-based Ithmaar Bank.
On May 15, 2008, Kazyna Capital Management announced the founding of a joint investment fund with CITIC Capital Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of the China International Trust & Investment Corporation (CITIC). The fund is named CITIC Kazyna Investment Fund I.
