Ng Kok Song is the retiring Chief Investment Officer of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC). He will be replaced by Lim Chow Kiat on February 2013.
Ng has oversight of the investment activities of the three operating subsidiaries, GIC Asset Management Pte Ltd, GIC Real Estate Pte Ltd and GIC Special Investments Pte Ltd which are responsible for public markets, real estate and private equity investments respectively. He is responsible for co-ordinating the investment activities of the GIC Group, evaluating the risk-reward analysis of all asset classes and managing the GIC portfolio at the strategic level.
Before joining GIC in 1986, Mr Ng was at the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He was the founding Chairman of the Singapore International Monetary Exchange (SIMEX), now incorporated into the Singapore Exchange. He is currently the founder Chairman of the Wealth Management Institute.
Mr Ng is also a Senior Advisory Council Member of the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA), and an adviser to Agency France Tresor and the Financial Stability Forum.
Mr Ng graduated in Physics from the University of Singapore (1970) and in Management from Stanford University (1980).
