Prudential is a financial institution based in the United Kingdom.
The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation owns a .5% stake of the company. It believe that some sovereign wealth funds will help finance Prudential's $35.5 billion takeover of American International Assurance. It is widely believe that Temasek Holdings will take part.
Prudential is planning on issuing a $20 billion rights issue to finance part of the takeover . The Qatar Investment Authority is interested in taking $1.5 billion worth of shares of Prudential's rights issue. Some news articles are reporting that the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation along with the QIA have agreed to underwrite a large portion of the rights issue.
