Qatar-Sri Lanka Investment Fund

The Qatar-Sri Lanka Investment Fund is a planned investment fund that will be created in May 2009 between the government of Qatar and Sri Lanka. The Qatar Investment Authority will sign on behalf of the government of Qatar.

The fund will be announced in a state visit by Hamad bin Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani to Sri Lanka in May 2009. The fund will most likely focus on agricultural and energy sectors. It is not known how much the fund will have in funding.

This is the 5th country specific fund the QIA has signed with another country. They are using these funds as a tool for Qatar foreign policy.
