Qatar Holding Indonesia is a wholly owned fund by the Qatar Investment Authority that was announced at the beginning of May 2010. It will focus on Indonesian mineral resources and infrastructure projects and have an initial capitalization of $1 billion. Qatar Holdings, a unit of the QIA, is the unit that controls the company.

The fund was originally planned to be a joint investment between the QIA and Pusat Investasi Pemerintah, a government owned unit of Indonesia. Indonesia would put up 15% of the fund, reportedly via the PIP, while the QIA would invest the remaining 85%. However, this plan was drop and the QIA would own the whole fund. The Indonesian government will provide non-monetary support.

The idea of the fund was originally raised in August 2007. The memorandum of understanding was signed in May 2009.
