Seatown Holdings
From Taighde
Seatown Holdings is an investment fund created by Temasek Holdings in February 2010.[1] The fund will use a variety of different investment strategies including investments in bonds and stocks. Seatown's strategy will revolve around targeting absolute returns. The fund is expected to have several billions of dollars with a initial capitalization of $3 billion very likely.
The fund was initially run by Charles Ong and Nasser Ahmad until July 2011 when both left their post. The CEO role was then filled by Jimmy Phoon.[2][3] Margaret Lui will be chief operating officer.
This new fund will be up against another Temasek investment fund, Fullerton Financial Holdings. Fullerton has been focused on long term investments and acts more like a private equity fund rather then a hedge fund. Seatown will fit this role nicely.
