Sunway City Bhd is a property developer and investor based in Malaysia.
The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation has a 24.3% stake in the company. The GIC took the stake in 1999 after buying Convertible Preference shares. The GIC paid $47,376,000 for the stake and received 40 million shares. Reco Loop, a subsidiary of GIC Real Estate holds the stake.
The GIC is expected to buy 5% of a planned real estate investment trust being created by Sunway in the first half of 2010. The stake will consist of 134 million units of the REIT. The GIC will pay 98 Malaysian sen($.29) per unit.
The Government Pension Fund of Norway held a 0.24% stake in the company as of December 31, 2009. The stake is valued at $1,088,270.
