Tesla Motors is a electric automaker based in the United States.
Aabar Investments, owned by International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), has a 4% stake in Tesla. Aabar purchased this stake from Daimler in July 2009, two months after Daimler acquired 10% of Tesla. Aabar owns 9.1% of Daimler. It is unclear how much Aabar paid Daimler for the stake.
The Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority owns 8% of Tesla.
