The First Investor (TFI) is a subsidiary of Barwa Real Estate. Barwa is a unit of the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company (Qatari Diar), which is in turn a unit of the Qatar Investment Authority.

TFI and Gazprombank formed a fund that will focus on the Russian real estate market. The fund will be capitalized with $150 million and expected to launch in 2010.
