Total is an oil company based in France.
On April 3, 2008, it was announced that a Chinese government owned investment fund bought 1.6% in Total for $1.8 billion. A few days later, it was confirmed that the State Administration of Foreign Exchange was the fund that took the stake. SAFE Investment Company is the investment arm that made the investment.
The Qatar Investment Authority owns a stake around 3% of Total. This was 1st announced in April 2012.[1]
The Government Pension Fund of Norway held a 1.81% stake in the company as of December 31, 2009. The stake is valued at $2,733,425,319.
