Yngve Slyngstad is executive director of Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM). He was appointed by Norges Bank’s Executive Board and succeeds Knut N. Kjær, effective January 1, 2008,
Yngve Slyngstad was previously head of Equity Investments at Norges Bank Investment Management, NBIM, which manages The Government Pension Fund of Norway – Global (the petroleum fund) and the bulk of Norges Banks foreign exchange reserves.
He holds a degree in law from the University of Oslo, a degree in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, an M.A. in Economics from the University of California and an M.A. in Political Science from Paris University.
He joined the staff of Norges Bank in 1998 with the responsibility of building up NBIM’s equity management activities. He became head of Equity Investments and of NBIM’s London office.
