The Carlyle Group is a United States private equity firm. The Mubadala Development Company and the GIC Special Investments Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) own a stake in the company.
Mubadala bought a 7.5% stake in September 2007 for $1.35 billion. Mubadala undertook another investment in December 2010, in which it gave Carlyle an additional $500 million for a combination of convertible notes and equity.[1]
