Chelsea Barracks
From Taighde
Chelsea Barracks is a London property development. It was a former army barracks until being sold off in 2008. It is planned to be one of the largest developments in London.
The Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company took over the property in 2008 for £959 million. Qatari Diar joined with the CPC Group to purchase the property but later purchased the CPC's stake. Qatari Diar will be funding the development using its own cash.
Qatar Diar initially submitted a master plan for the site in 2009 but after some criticisms, they chose to retract their plans. This led to a series of legal battles that ended in 2010
