China-Asean Investment Cooperation Fund (CAICF) is an investment fund targeting small and medium size business in South East Asia and China. The fund will focus on the infrastructure, energy, and natural resources sectors. The fund was created by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations but will be managed by Export-Import Bank of China. The fund has been capitalized with $1 billion but is planning on raising up to $10 billion.[1]

The China Investment Corporation and Eximbank are the two largest institutional investor in CAICF with both investing $300 million in the fund. The International Finance Corporation is expected to invest $100 million.

China Eximbank will hold a 52% stake while the CIC will hold a 24% stake. A unit of the Bank of China holds 12%. China Communications Construction Company has an 8% stake.

Li Yingru, a managing director of private equity investments for the CIC, was appointed by the CIC as Chief Investment Officer in June 2010. [2]
