Hamid bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. He replaced Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nehayan in April 2010 after Ahmed was killed in an accident. He is also Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Affairs Minister for Abu Dhabi. He is on the board of directors for the Abu Dhabi Investment Council.

He was appointed to the Council only a few years ago and was not involved in daily operations of the Council.

He is the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Planning & Economy since 2001 and the General Holding Corporation. He is also a member on the Supreme Petroleum Council. He became head of the Court of the Crown Prince in 2006. He was deeply involved with several privatizations of state-owned enterprises, most notably Agthia.
